Embrace your Irish roots, or pretend your Irish for the day! Here’s some events around the Triangle to get you in the St. Paddy’s Day Spirit!
Raleigh
Raleigh St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival – The parade kicks off at 10 a.m. and goes through downtown with bands, floats, dancers, music, dogs, horses and much more. There will be a festival with food and fun in City Plaza.
Milk Bar – Milk Bar will host an epic St. Patrick’s Day Block Party on the street filled with beer, food and live music until 10 p.m.
Hibernian Raleigh – Hibernian’s annual street festival will feature live music from noon to 11 p.m. outside the downtown Raleigh pub. The pub will be open until 2 a.m. Part of the proceeds from outside sales go to benefit Shop Local Raleigh.
Hibernian North Raleigh – Hibernian in North Raleigh will feature live music on from 6 to 8:30 p.m. with a DJ playing late into the night.
Raleigh Beer Garden – The beer garden will feature live music from 5 p.m. until 10:30 in the outdoor heated event tent with a DJ playing until 2 a.m. inside.
Watts and Ward – The craft cocktail bar will open early at 11 a.m. and will feature live music starting at 7 p.m.
Lafayette Village – Enjoy traditional Irish music, food and dance in a spacious outdoor setting at Lafayette Village’s annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration on the village green starting at noon.
Big Boss Brewing – Big Boss Brewing is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with food trucks, live tunes and a brand new Nitro stout starting at noon.
Lonerider Brewing Company – Get lucky from 3 to 11 p.m. with a special keg of Irish Red Ale. There will be live music by Orange Echo and food from Johnson’s BBQ.
London Bridge Pub – The pub will open at 10 a.m. and feature Irish classics like fish and chips all day.
O’Malley’s Pub & Restaurant – Join O’Malley’s Pub & Restaurant on Fri., March 17, for green beer, giveaways, specials and much more! And of course, live music will be a highlight of the pub’s celebration, with Chris Overstreet at 2pm and the Magic Pipers Band at 9pm.
Saints & Scholars Irish Pub – North Raleigh’s Saints & Scholars Irish Pub serves up homemade food in a dining room lined with Irish decor, plus includes a bar with more than 15 beers on tap. Bring your pooch this St. Patrick’s Day, too, to enjoy their pet-friendly patio with two fire pits and canopies. Saints & Scholars will be hosting a St. Patrick’s Day party on Fri., March 17, featuring an Irish buffet 11am-10pm, $5 Irish pints and live music on the patio with The Nostalgics, 7-11pm, and DJ Wanda Thompson, 11pm-2am.
Tra’Li Irish Pub & Restaurant – Experience an evening of traditional song and music on St. Patrick’s Eve at the Brier Creek location, Fri., March 16, 8-10:30pm. For this event, the pub has assembled some fine musicians who will perform under the title “Ring of Cary,” playing Irish music with traditional songs and tunes.
10th Annual St. Paddy’s Four Miler – March 24 from 10:30am-2:30pm, starting at the Raleigh Beer Garden, race around town in your favorite kilt at the St. Paddy’s Four Miler! All runners will win a T-shirt, Bond Brothers Beer Company beer from Cary and a finisher’s medal. Come out for live music, food and beer as well as a free run for the kids! Hosted by nOg Run Club, all proceeds from this event will go to local charities. First beer is free with entry! Entry fee is $40 ahead of the race and $45 day of.
Cary and Apex
Fortnight Beer Mile – Participants can run, jog, walk, crawl the one mile-ish course in Cary and enjoy four 10 oz. beers straight from Fortnight’s on-site brewery.
Doherty’s Block Party – The party starts in the parking lot of the Cary restaurant at 3 p.m. with live music, great food, cold beer and more. Later in the day, Irish dancers and live bagpipes take the outdoor stage for a performance the whole family will love. The after party kicks off in the pub at 10 p.m.
Doherty’s Apex – Doherty’s in Apex is also hosting a family-friendly block party.
Patrick Jane’s Pizza – There will be a prize for the best dressed Irishman or Irishwoman, music performed by Tom Neuhauser & Ewe’s Tree Irish band, local Irish styled craft beer, Guinness, a St. Patrick’s pizza, yummy Irish desserts and a raffle.
The Cary Senior Center – is holding an Irish line dancing event. It is free to attend and is for people aged 55 and older. Dancers are encouraged to wear green and bring a dish to share. It takes place on Friday, March 9 at noon.
Rally Point Sports Grill – at 837 Bass Pro Ln. is holding a St. Patrick’s Day party with live music by DJ B4 starting at 10 PM and drink specials on Irish drinks on Saturday, March 17.
Durham
Motorco Music Hall – The St. Paddy’s Day extravaganza starts at 11:30 a.m. and features music all day.
Bull McCabe’s – The Irish pub will feature live music, including bagpipes, starting at 11 a.m. and continuing until 1 a.m.
Ponysaurus Brewing – Any lucky duck with a P-A-T first, middle, or last name gets a $5 gift card on St. Paddy’s Day.
Bull City Ciderworks – Starting at noon, the bar will be rolling out Slow Ryed Cider, a scavenger hunt and cider Jell-O shots!
Chapel Hill
St. Paddy’s Day with Goats – Spring Haven Farm will host a full day of fun. The goats, baby pigs, horses and other animals will be available to interact with and enjoy and there will be sweet treats to eat and drink. Kids can get their face painted and take a ride on the Tractor Train Express or hayride. Tickets are $10.
