To celebrate Día de Los Niño’s (Children’s Day-Books Day) Durham County Library is working together with Book Harvest to host a large book swap at the Northgate Mall on April 29th from 11am until 2pm.
We are asking families to bring the children and teen books they have already read and take home free ones. The kids and teens will be able to decorate a bag and then choose their own books to fill their bags.
Various performers and activities will be on site, see the following schedule below:
11am- Magic by David with face painting and balloon animals,
12pm- Latin American dance performance by Huepa,
11am to 2pm- Activities from Mad Science (slime) and The Scrap Exchange(recycled material crafts)
The Friends of the Library book sale is happening the same day at their store front beside Sears. They will be giving away a free book to each child or teen that comes down to their location with a coupon from the Día event.
