Raleigh’s Community Music School (CMS) provides high-quality, need-based, personalized music education to Wake County youth. At CMS, the weekly tuition for private music instruction is just $1, and instruments are supplied free of charge for students’ use. Paid professional faculty are dedicated to ensuring that every child has access to the life-changing benefits of music education.
CMS hosts an annual concert to showcase the talents of its young musicians, as well as to generate funds to support the program. This year’s event, known as “Brighter Futures Through Music: A Spectacular Evening of Impact and Philanthropy Honoring Tom McGuire,” will be held at the A.J. Fletcher Opera Theater at the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
The benefit concert will be hosted by award-winning actor Ira David Wood III and will feature a special musical performance by John Brown, Vice Provost for the Arts and Director of the Jazz Program at Duke University.
The event is open to the public and requires registration. The suggested attendance donation is $100. Please click here for more information or to RSVP for the fundraising concert.
