Sound Palate Pairing with Scott Crawford of Crawford Cookshop

Sound Palate Pairing with Scott Crawford of Crawford Cookshop

Listen as Kitty speaks with Scott Crawford of Crawford Cookshop.

Chef Scott Crawford is opening Crawford Cookshop on Friday, December 3 in Clayton.

Crawford is one of the area’s most beloved and admired chefs. His accomplishments in the culinary world are vast including his initial Raleigh spot Crawford and Son, followed by his French bistro next door, Jolie, named after his daughter. And soon to come, a Crawford Steakhouse in Cary (to open in 2023) sandwiched in between a new concept, Crawford Cookshop in Clayton.

Crawford Cookshop is the home of genuine food serving up comfort classics like mom used to make and others reimagined using decades of culinary excellence. Indoor dining, outdoor dining (covered and heated), curbside pickup, and delivery available.

Crawford Cookshop will use a smoker and wood-burning grill and offer food that is just a little simpler and fresh with a tagline of “Fresh Americana.” Crawford Cookshop will serve lots of salads, local meats, and fish, wings, burgers, sandwiches, libations, mainly focused on whiskey cocktails, soft-serve ice cream sundaes, pies, and cakes. Americana style food.

Scott Crawford chose to pair the concept of Crawford Cookshop with The Avett Brothers’ song “Ain’t No Man.” According to Crawford, “Their music is very positive and falls within the Americana genre. Very North Carolina. The song has a very positive, lighthearted message.” Crawford wants Crawford Cookshop to be a place for fun, where families feel comfortable and have a great time.
