Beekeeping

Summer is here and its time to get out in the sun. Beekeeping is a great hobby for anyone who likes to know that they are helping the world. Bees are essential to making food grow. They are pollinators so they travel from plant to plant spreading pollen. Beekeeping is all about the life and care of honey bees.

Parasailing

Calling all adventurers out there to try this thrilling hobby. If you like the water and wind this is the activity for you. With the sun on your face, you can be lifted up high with the modified parachute and see the whole world laid out beneath you. Parasailing can also be done on land as it is towed behind a fast moving vehicle.

Canning

Canning has been around since the beginning but it is slowly falling out of practice. This summer get some strawberries and make your own jam and can it in your kitchen. By learning to do something that our grandparents did, we are keeping some traditions alive and you never know, you might want to can more things like pickles or pasta sauce.

Here is a great family outting to try for all ages. From kids to adults, everyone can ride a horse even if its just a little pony at the State Fair. Its also a good learning experience to teach children the importance of animals and how to care for them and not just see them as big scary animals.

When you were a kid, did you ever pretend you had a lost treasure map and were looking for buried treasure? Or last week, you were searching frantically for your missing keys? Geocashing is a fantasic way to get outdoors and look for hidden objects using GPS. This usually includes hiking to find the item that previous geocashers had stored or a long walk.
