Penn Station East Coast Subs Athlete of the Season: Zoe Viney

Meet one of our finalists for the 96.1 BBB and Penn Station East Coast Subs Athlete of the Year –  Zoe Viney!

She is in the running for a $1,000 scholarship courtesy of Penn Station East Coast Subs.

Meet Zoe:

When Zoe’s not on the volleyball court, or has her head in the books as an NHS member, AP Scholar, and Capstone Program student, she’s working on special service projects as a Bronze Award winner for Girl Scouts.

What is your Greatest Achievement?

I get to go to the #1 college for pre-med.

Why Do You Love to Play Your Sport?

Volleyball is a challenge, being DS you have to not only be everywhere at once, but you also have to give a perfect pass. I also love each of the families that a volleyball family is.

What Made You Decide to Play the Sport for Which You Were Named Penn Station Athlete of the Season?

My Nuna (greek for godmother) coaches and used to play, and she’s the one who really got me into it and made me want to be great.

How has Participating in High School Athletics Benefited You?

Going into freshman year, I was coming from a school no one else had gone to, but the team because a group of friends and some even became my best friends. They’re a foundation of individuals who understand everything you are going through, something that cannot be overlooked.
