Ingredients
For the pasta & proteins:
- 8 oz of your favorite style of pasta
- 1 lb steak (ribeye, sirloin, or strip), cut into bite-size pieces
- ½ lb shrimp, peeled & deveined
- Salt & black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
For the sauce:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- ½ cup beef broth (or chicken broth)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Optional add-ins:
- Spinach or mushrooms
- Cherry tomatoes
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Cook the pasta
Boil the salted water and cook pasta until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.
2. Season & cook the steak
Toss the steak pieces with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then sear the steak for 2–4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
3. Cook the shrimp
In the same pan, add the shrimp. Cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
4. Make the sauce
Lower heat to medium. Add butter and garlic, then sauté until fragrant. Pour in the broth and cream, stirring to combine. Add parmesan, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Simmer until slightly thickened.
5. Bring it all together
Add the cooked pasta, steak, and shrimp back into the skillet. Toss everything together, add additional add-ins if desired and a splash of reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
6. Finish & serve
Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish with parsley and extra parmesan.
