April 25th is DEA National Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day reflects DEA’s commitment to Americans’ safety and health, encouraging the public to remove unneeded medications from their homes as a measure of preventing medication misuse and opioid addiction from ever starting.
That’s why 96.1 BBB is once again partnering with the Cary PD who echoes the DEA’s commitment to making our communities safer and healthier.
Last year, our initiative helped our local law enforcement collect over 450 lbs. of medicine! To date, 20,391,815 lbs. (10,196 tons) have been collected through the 28 years of the DEA’s initiative.
