“Worst-case scenario.”
Three words that can take our minds places we never needed to go.
Why is it that when we’re faced with uncertainty, our brains so quickly jump to the negative? We fill in the blanks, make assumptions, and create entire stories based on things we don’t actually know.
And more often than not, those stories aren’t facts. They’re fiction.
That’s why Kim Dillon, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with Therapeutic Partners, PLLC, is here today to tell us and our lovely host Madison to separate what we know from what we assume. Not everything we fear is true, and not every unanswered question needs a worst-case ending.
Today’s Takeaway: “We have to focus on the facts.”
